This fan is a replica of a whale from the "Elephant and Whale Screen," a large ink painting that is said to have been painted by Ito Jakuchu in his later years.
The whale, swimming bravely through the foaming waves on its pale pearlescent grey-beige fan-shaped surface, is truly the king of the sea. Its dignity can be seen in the forceful spurting of water.
It can be worn by people of all ages and is also recommended as a gift.
